Izhora pipe mill (IPM, “Severstal Russian steel division), one of the leading Russian producers of the pipes of big diameter (PBD), shipped about 2,7 thousand tons of products for the construction of underwater transition of the “Force of Siberia” gas pipeline which will connect the Russian site of the project with the Chinese gas-transport system.

IPM produced and delivered pipes with a diameter of 1420 millimeters from  K65 durability class steel. For the product delivery to the place of stacking of the pipeline the entity used multimodal system, having provided transportation of pipes by a railway and water transport.

Two strings of underwater transition about 1100 m long each will lie in tunnels near Amur River near Blagoveshchensk. The pipeline bureau of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) – China Petroleum Pipeline, performs the  asset construction.

“Izhora pipe mill has serious experience of deliveries of rolls and pipes for the “Force of Siberia”, including the most difficult sites of a gas-transport system, — the marketing and sales director of the entity Alexander Semyonov comments. – The products of IPM correspond not only to domestic, but also international standards of quality, and the selection of the mill as the supplier for underwater transition of the project is an additional confirmation”.

What’s more, in 2017 Izhora pipe mill one of the first among the Russian pipe manufacturing companies made and delivered pipes for the sections of the pipeline “Force of Siberia” crossing zones of active tectonic breaks. Such  products possess a complex of special operational characteristics: it is capable to maintain the increased deformations and to keep stability in case of active seismic impact.
