Health and Safety Policy

Izhora Pipe Mill manufactures large-diameter pipes for oil & gas  trunklines serving PAO Gazprom, PAO Transneft and other oil and gas companies in Russia and other countries.

Built in 2006, Izhora Pipe Mill uses the latest equipment and technologies. Quality of our processes and infrastructure is one way of demonstrating our  compliance with legal requirements in the areas of occupational safety, industrial safety and environmental protection.

Our goal is to prevent any workplace injuries, professional diseases and  harm to the environment.

To achieve this goal, we have deployed and continuously improve our  integrated management system compliant with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. This system is a part of our governance.

Our objectives:

  • Manage our operations and products with minimum risks for our employees and  the environment
  • Continuously look for ways to reduce:
    • Amount of waste
    • Amount of atmospheric emission
    • Unproductive consumption of irreplaceable natural resources
    • Risks associated with dangerous and hazardous manufacturing aspects.
  • Engage our employees and employees of our suppliers in occupational safety, industrial safety and environmental protection initiatives.

Our commitments:

  • Full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations on environmental protection and occupational safety
  • Choose production methods and processes that warrant employee safety and  minimize risks for our employees, employees of our suppliers, and the environment
  • Maintain transparent discussion with our employees, suppliers, consumers, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders
  • Award employees who make the greatest contribution to the improvement of  our environmental protection, industrial safety and occupational safety performance
  • Keep sufficient focus on education and training to maintain strong technical competencies of our employees, protect the environment, and ensure health and safety.

PAO Severstal announces it has closed a deal to increase its shareholding in its joint venture with Germany's Linde GmbH for the production of coil-wound heat exchangers (CWHE) for use in medium-scale and large-scale LNG plants. Following the completion of the transaction, Severstal will have a 50% stake in the joint venture.
